Pulmonary Hypertension
Pulmonary Hypertension
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a high blood pressure condition affecting the arteries of the lungs and right side of the heart. At Kateb Medical, we have vast experience in the management of this complex condition, the symptoms of which include shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, cough, or sometimes even fainting. In assessing the condition severity and determining a rational evidence-based approach, we make use of echocardiogram, CT scan, and right heart catheterization.
Management of pulmonary hypertension entails a set of medications, lifestyle interventions, and, sometimes, oxygen supplementation or even referral to specialized centers for care. Most patients who are at risk for developing PH include those with underlying conditions such as COPD, interstitial lung disease, sleep apnea, or asbestosis. Our integrated treatment ensures these diseases are addressed together to prevent lung deterioration and heart overload. We aim to continuously enhance daytime capabilities while lessening complications, routinely following and monitoring this significant lung disease among our patients.
